How will you describe your work to a layperson?

Have you ever faced this question by a layperson?

  What you do for living? or What's your profession?

Every individual face this question by the people.

It is easy for you to make other people understand what you do if they have a little bit knowledge about your subject and there are some profession which could be easily understood like Doctor, Teacher, Police, Lawyer e.t.c. However there are some professions which are difficult to understand by a layperson like Software Testing.

When i say to people that i am a Software Tester and my work is to test the software then without a proper explanation it is not possible for them to understand what i do when i say I Test software.

I would like to ask my readers to share their experience on this and how you explain to others about software testing?
